Excursion 1 - Visit of the Museum dedicated to Michelin
The Michelin Museum is specially dedicated to the famous manufacturer in tyre for various vehicles (bicycle, motorbike, car, truck, plane, ...). The museum is located near the centre of Clermont-Ferrand, and contributes to explain the birth and the evolution of the area concerned with tyres which is strongly linked to the Michelin family and also to the recent history of Clermont-Ferrand. The visit is planned for a 2 hours duration with a specific guide of English langage.
The visit is planned for the Tuesday, 11th of Sept., after the Session IV. A dedicated bus shuttle will bring the visitors directly to the Michelin Museum, and after the visit to the hotels. Another bus shuttle will be planned to bring to the hotels the persons not taking part in the visit. The duration of the visit is around 1h30.

Excursion 2 - Visit of the European Centre of volcanism
Vulcania is a park dedicated to the volcanism, located near Clermont-Ferrand (30 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand by bus) in the Regional Park of Auvergne Volcanoes. A museum can be visited with a competent guide to obtain information concerning volcanoes through many facets: Etna room, volcanic garden, planet and volcanoes, planet observer, discovery trails...
The visit is planned for the Wednesday, 12th of Sept. The departure for the visit is set right after the lunch at 14h30. We suggest to the visitor to equip oneself with comfortable shoes. The duration of the visit is around 3 hours. The return to the hotels is planned around 17h30. For the Icefa participants who do not take part in the visit, a dedicated bus shuttle will take back them to Clermont-Ferrand (to join the station and/or the airport if necessary).

Excursion 3 - Trip to Lyon and visit of the industry Ferraz-Shawmut
Ferraz Shawmut is a very well-known industry world leader in fuses and their applications for the Low-Voltage range in particular. Some industrial activities are located near Lyon at less than 200 kms from Clermont-Ferrand. This visit is organized by JL Gelet who is involved in the Local Organizing Committee. This visit especially planned for Icefa participants will be done on Thursday with a departure from the hotels in the morning and a return in the end of the afternoon.
